Why creedon is using IE? Why 80% of posters here using Windows?
Right now I am posting with IE, because I'm going to play some Civilization 3 for a bit (it works with winex, it's unplayable though) and I couldn't care less about customizing my windows installation because that's the only thing I use it for... games (and with RTCW released for linux and the upcoming release of the Neverwinter Nights linux client and some great upcoming GameCube titles that's going to be less and less  ;) ).

However most of the time I use Opera or Konqueror for linux. I'm especially beginning to like Opera, nice fast browser, clean interface, and some nifty features, only drawback are the banner ads (but I can live with those).

If IE were to be a stand alone program it would actually be a very decent browser (though it lacks some features like popup blocking and is a little insecure) however seeing it is so closely (and unnecessary) tied to the windows operating system it loses a lot of points in my book. Just take the fact that that SSL exploit was fixed for konqueror in 90 minutes, while MS is still busy trying to find a solution (and even issued a bulleting lulling their customers into a false sense of security).

That I don't like windows (I'm avoiding the word 'hate' here) does not mean that I never use it, sometimes it is something I just cannot avoid (though I hope this will change in the future, we'll just wait and see if there are more game developers like Bioware and id)
If you can't learn to do something well, learn to enjoy doing it poorly.

That's exactly why I don't disclose my location and don't personally argue with *NIX worshippers. We are sitting in cubes nearby and our war has ended long time ago. So we peeking at each other when UNIX firewall goes down or some windows machine blue screens. He was as blood thirsty as any of you when he first argued with me but then just cooled off when was unable to make a point.

No, I thought you were referring to one of us. I have a feeling he was making points, you were just not listening as has been the example here...

It's identified as netscape becouse i do not reallu update my site, for browser identification I need to get recent browscap.ini file in system32 directory which I did not for a long time.
Web server logs are properly identifying your though.
I'm planning to migrate it to .NET which uses different approach for browser identification.

To VoidMan.
No he was argumentive as all of you but just did make a point as a result. Beleive me I'm listening to you it's just that usuall selling pitch you use to convince people to go UNIX would not work here becouse I can see the other side of story equally well.

I don't think you can see the other side equally well as you have admitted previously.  Since you run a web site let me ask you a question.  Let's say you have several subdirectories full of JPEG (or BMP or any other type) images and for whatever reasons you wanted to convert them to PNG.  And also lets say that anywhere in any of your web pages on your web site you want to change any URLs to reflect the new *.png extension rather than the *.jpg.  How would you accomplish this task using only the tools that come with your operating system?

Will .NET framework would be considered part of OS?
And yes, Windows does not come with graphic editing capabilites. I'm not really sure why it shall be though.
But that's why we have programming languages and tecnologies, don't we?
So I'll write WSH script to do that stuff using .NET libraries.

My contribution to this forum is to show you people that there is opposing force to all your "UNIX everywhere" sales pitches.
I'm here to show you something which you did not know about Windows and assumed that it can be done only in glorified UNIX.

What??? You can't do it?  Hmmm, are you ready to admit this is one thing that Linux can do that Windows can't? This is easily done in Linux with a single command string on the command line, intuitive once you've actually sat down and used/learned Linux unlike yourself. If you will admit this is one, I will move on to the next question so be prepared for 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, ...

Yes I agree UNIX has better command line and shell then Windows.
So if you OS would be able to be used as a rice cooker, will you consider it to be an advantage? Converting files from one graphic format to another is not something what OS is supposed to do. You don't agree with me?
I'm wondering how come you have not used main Linux sales pitch - "We can run on 386 with 32 Mb RAM"? What is the point of that?
And on a separate note. How exactly you do in Linux (I'm talking converting JPG to PNG)?
