a few quick q's on tux proggy's

well im trying out the lycros distro now. i like it very much.yes i am bit disadvantaged from m$. i find lycros to setup well for a noob of my rating.knoppix was overwhelming and i couldnt find anyway to resize my monitor res.(my fault im sure)
anyways... what im looking for now are programs for audio editing. i currently use  vegas video and reason,on the devil box of course. i also would like to know what is the best winders emu to d/l. ive seen a few out there.
oh as a matter of curiosity my linux box is linked to my 2000pro box with the cable connection.  linux found everything to get out but surprise bill wont let the bird out. i guess ill just have to switch some cabsles around
