Same old Same old: Bluetooth support in XP

Crunchy(Cracked)Butter:
"If they supported the Bluetooth sync protocol, that would be vendor independent," Helm said. "Why would they do that? They would rather lock people into their own sync protocols with ActiveSync."

Microsoft did not respond to requests for additional information on its Bluetooth strategy. A company representative said PAN support would be coming out a later time."

Seems to me MS don't care, and neither do i actually since i cannot get a decent bluetooth card for my laptop so i don't bother with it.  Thought this might interest others thou.

What? They have Bluetooth support?

Oh, yeah... of course they do. Apple had free drivers available the day that D-Link came out with their USB Bluetooth adapter.

10.2 has native support for standard Bluetooth, not bastardized MS Bluetooth.

And so MS ripped off the idea.

i will not be particularly bothered about getting bluetooth stuff, since i disagree with the principle of wireless networking and of unauthorised data/funds transfer.

In 20 years when Microsoft is but a distant memory, expect to see me posting on the fuckbluetooth.com forums...

Whats wrong with wireless networking?

Calum:
you can't be assured of a physically closed network.

just another dimension of exploitation left wide open since many peopl will buy some wireless networking just because they can...
