try this program if you are using the Nvidia drivers for linux. It's great! you can remove the Nvidia logo at startup and add a shadow to the cursor

It's a nice tool indeed but it should be used with caution.
From what I've heard it's not always very stable and it gave some people serious headaches with their driver/video settings.
