APPLE ON AMD!!!!!!

Things are getting interesting, especially since the 970 is also 64 bit. Could it be, that since neither Microsoft or Intel are going full on 64 bit, AMD and Apple are considering teaming up?

That kind of choice is only something you are guaranteed of getting with free operating systems, sorry.  This is like asking Microsoft to port Office XP to Linux -- it ain't gonna happen.

Rumors based on assumptions and stupid people. If Time (or the Times) magazine prints it, post a link. Otherwise, it's just another rumor.

I'll quote the article's author instead of answering directly:

So should Apple go AMD64? And might that be the basis for those comments from the senior AMD guy? We find it hard to imagine that AMD hasn't been talking to Apple, if only informally. Just as Dell regularly converses with AMD to keep Intel to heel, so Apple almost certainly talks to AMD and Intel to keep the pressure on Motorola and IBM. At the very least, it needs to keep up with trends among other processor platforms so it has an up-to-date contingency plan in case PowerPC proves untenable.

i am astonished at your statement that all information is unprovable unless it comes from these two news sources.

i would count the BBC as a reliable source of information (unlike you perhaps) but i would never trust them implicitly! my information sources are varied and even so i am acutely aware of how little i am really finding out and how much is probably made up.

you can't dismiss an information source out of hand like that.
