Mac06 is kinda like Windows 9x in reverse. Instead of putting a GUI shell on top of text DOS, you're putting a POSIX shell on top of graphical Mac OS.
If you wanna try a *nix on your Power Mac, try Yellow Dog Linux. It's the whole thing, and not just a little shell.
edit: although, if you wanna mix *nix and Mac OS on that hardware, Mac06 will do it for you... the problem is finding software for Mac06. I'm not knocking Mac06. I like the idea, and it's fairly well implemented, it's just that there' not much support for it =^(
