I think what I wanted to post is too big (i learned my lesson with the laughing thing) so here's the link. This is information gathered from Boycott Microsoft and is the largest collection of pro-mac info i've ever seen in one place.

Hey, MacMan, the d-load link to your movie dosn't work. Also, you should set the refrence to boycot M$ as a link.

Finally, there is an awsome Webpage editor calld PageSpinner, it's shareware and it really simplifies makeing a very elegant website, you might want to give it a shot as it saves time and makes things look nicer.

1. Too lazy to learn how to do that on iTools.

2. Too lazy to copy everything from Angelfire to iTools.

3. Just plane too lazy.

I'll probably look into that in the future. If the pop-ups really tick you off, try viewing my page through it's original Angelfire URL.

Angelfire is truly a great service. I haven't given them a penny, yet I still get all their great services. Someday I'll probably switch to iTools or something else though.

It's sooooo easy it's sick Macman.

You go online and make a user name and password.

Then you click the "mount iDisk" button, and your iDisk apears on your desktop! It's just like putting in a Zip or CD.

All you do is copy your web files to the site directory. Drag the disk to the trash and presto! Your done.

Im not clear on this though: how do I turn my website into file form? Is there some way to download my pages? If I'm supposed to just drag the scripts, I don't have any. I launched my pages with Claris Homepage (before I knew HTML) and since then I've just edited them on Angelfire. And even if I could, Angelfire does not allow image sharing. Would the images I uploaded directly to Angelfire load?

As you can see, this isn't quite as easy enough to make someone sick. Nasuous, though, maybe.

No sweat.

Your html and image files are saved in your angel fire FTP. If you can't get in there, you could simply select save page as source from the file menu. The same goes for your images.

Do you have an Editor like GoLive or even that crappy old Adobe PageMill they shiped with the old iMacs. That will simplify things alot. If not, I suggest you download  this:

This is an awsome shareware html editor. It makes things real easy.

Anyway, once you got all your web stuff on your harddrive, make a directory structure that mirrors that of your iDisk.

For example, I made a folder calld "psyjax" (the name of my iDisk.

Then inside there I made one Called "Sites" and another called "Pictures".

These are the two directories I use to store my HTML and images respectively.

Then you dump the HTML and images in to these two folders.

Now you bootup PageSpinner, or your fav. Text editor.

And start linking your page up. Once done, upload and Ta-DA!

Your done  

It sounds more complicated than it is.

It took me less than 15 minutes to get my site up (granted it's a simple site) none the less, it's worth the trouble. It's an excellent connection and fantastic service.

And as long as all of your pages are static you could use "wget -r http://my.angelfire.site/" to suck down your entire web site to your local drive. I'm sure there's a Darwin version, probably even included. But of course there are many other ways and doing a "Save As" from your favorite browser would do it as well, but it's much more tedious.

It took me a while to learn how to do that. Macman is obviously new to all this, so one step at a time.

If you wan't wget for darwin macman, you can get it from http://fink.sourceforge.net/

But I woulden't mess with that stuff right now.

A good place to start learning UNIX is just to learn some basic navigation commands and the "man" command.

I did "man ssh" in the terminal and opend up a world of fun, as well as "man nmap"
