Free Speech...

cahult:
What are your views on free speech? I

pkd_lives:
Free speech means the freedom to speak/write your mind. The only times this is not allowable is:

a) Libel
b) Slander
c) Facts are wrong.

However the Moore guys article is actually wrong in one very important subject. The societies that have dictated control of freedom to speak/write issues are what you would call right-wing. I offer all known human history as evidence, you will find only a few exceptions to this. As a whole I am not impressed with this persons ability to cogitate. And he aught to realise it was liberalism that gave free speech/writing to the USA.

There are many so called liberals who would ban certain things that are freedom to speak/write, but they are not liberals if they support this. And he confuses Political Correctness with Liberalism.

The primary motif of freedom of speech is to be able to speak out against a tyranny or controlling authority - Legal or otherwise.

If a company pulls advertising and you see it as a refusal of the rights to free speech/writing then you are entirely free to stop supporting them.

Whilst there are many groups I don't like, racist, religious, anti/pro abortion/choice, I would never see fit to try to ban them. Their statements often provide humor in their stupidity, and are usually very easily debunked.

My religion leads me to believe that that guy should be allowed to say what he likes. it looks to me like the people who responded to the religious articles are like people who complain to their ISP that their internet has porn on it.

I think that slander, libel and deliberately trying to stifle somebody's point of view are out, but anything else is fair game, re: free speech.

your religion is all about being facist and tyrannical. If what i want to say inflicts on someone elses IP(integrational Polytheism) views then i cant say it or else i am a "bad person" according to the rules of IP.
and being an integrational polytheist also means that you basically are a sinner or an evil person in almost every other religion because i believe in other gods and i dont go by some of their rules.

while what you say is a complete heap of tripe, my religion in no way prohibits you from saying it. let's go through these ridiculous accusations one by one shall we?

so i am devoted to faces am i? what does facist mean? well, let's see how you justify these accusations:

so, you use the old chestnut of not justifying what you say, by heaping yet more incorrectitudes on top of it before anybody has a chance to breathe. Where did you dig up that heap of claptrap? there is NOTHING in Integrational Polytheism that says that anybody is EVER a bad person. There are NO bad people. Secondly, you 'can't say it'? you can say ANYTHING you like. the only real restrictions in integrational polytheism are not infringing on another person's right to be. This covers the likes of petty theft, murder, rape (which are generally not on before you ask) and so on which all infringe on somebody else's way of being. Saying what you think IN NO WAY stops me from thinking saying or doing anything, so why shouldn't you do it? Here are the 'rules' of Integrational Polytheism, now show me where there is anything in there that supports your spurious allegations. Also, can you please qualify what you mean by 'inflicts on'? Inflicts what on?

i beg your pardon? that doesn't even make sense! Integrational Polytheism means you do believe in all gods, or at least you acknowledge that if a god has ever been believed in by anybody that that god might well exist or have existed. Integrational Polytheism is about admitting we don't know everything and conceding that other people have a point. Integrational Polytheism is about openmindedness and free speech, and if ANY other religions have a problem about that then it is THEIR lookout. have a look at this page, containing an email from the founder of your religion saying how he thinks Bobness and Integrational Polytheism are totally compatible. So i don't know what you're complaining about, and i suspect that the erisians and probably a lot of other religions are perfectly happy to coexist with Integrational Polytheism as well.

Ball's in your court. Honestly, MoR, i don't know why you bother!
