Battle of Britain!
jasonlane:
OK so there's a new film coming out next year, starring Mr T.Cruise, he's playing a war hero called Billy Fiske, who led a band of American pilots in the battle of Britain.... WHAT THE FUCK????!?!?!?!?#!*
Billy Fiske was a real pilot but he was the only pilot in the battle on Britain. Is Hollywood and ultimately America going to arrogantly insult everyone once again?
Saving private Ryan - a fucking joke
U571 - there wasn't one fucking Yank involved in that operation
Now this
I'm sorry but American culture is really starting to piss me off. Just about everyone else as well it seems.
My grandmothers first husband was killed in the Battle of Britain at age 21.
America needs to learn some fucking respect. You need to get your fucking act together. You're heading on a road to nowhere.

P.S: This is not a personal attack against Americans, I've no beef with you personally. I do think this sort of thing, which we've seen plenty of, on all sorts of levels show the deepest disrespect. It really pisses me off.

there's a disclaimer at the end of the film....read that.
I'm American and our culture pisses me off too.
That's the problem with freedom, you have the right to make fugged up choices as well as good ones rather than have someone dictate your choices to you.
Last I checked, Americas been pissin of the Britts since 1775...why change now.
A movie in no way means the average American has no respect for fallen Servicemen/women. It generally means the Producer, writer, director couldn't be bothered to get into some litterature or even hire a researcher to ensure the movie they make is at least historically close. But then agin, real life is boring and doesn't sell movies, so Hollywood does straange things to it. Compare Braveheart to Scottlands official account of William Wallace...It's not like the movie!
But since We're pissing you off...Allow me to be the first to deeply and sincerely apologize for all of us rude and inconsiderate Americans who directly attacked you and your citizenry with our blatent inconcideracy, and allowed this moron to make this movie.
Honestly, aren't there more important things to worry about right now than a movie?

:D I guess you're right, I was just raging.
It's the attitude that annoys me, one that I see transposed into other areas, this is what I think is dangerous, bad movies are just a symptom. It's not just the US either, we do it, god knows the French do it
When this movie comes out it's really going to raise hell here. It would be like the French making a movie about the War of Independence, one were there the heroes, bah....
No you are right, it's just a movie..... more important things? Yes there are ;)

It's the US entertainment industry. Nothing is sacred to them as long as they can get a buck. They don't do it to be funny, or cute, they do it and they're serious and they don't give a shit.

I know, shame isn't it. Guess that's business though, but hey ever the eternal idealist.
I hope I didn't piss any of guys of with my flying of the handle, honestly the last thing I'd want to do, it's not in my nature.
