quote: Back to my forum story. I was reading the thread and the OSS, I'm sorry "Free Software", fan-boys were throwing flames at people about how "You are not free with propeitary software" and "Free Software for freedom!!!!111!!!11!". Hmmm, I think I will excersize that freedom right now, the freedom of choice, and that choice is, to not use it. Unfortunately, I'm obviouly not "Free" enough for them. I'll be the first to sayt that I use Open Source daily, apps like: Firefox, Thunderbird, Gaim, wget, pnotepad and Apache. That doesn't mean that there are "Closed Source" apps that completely spank their "Open Source" Counterparts like: Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premeire, Final Cut Pro, Flash MX 2004, iTunes, MS Office, Winamp, et al.
My point is, that just because there is Source code availible does not automagically make it a better app, no matter what ESR, RMS, etc... might say. Many OSS apps are very good, but not good enough compared to something propeitary. Alot of the time I CAN'T wait for the project maintainer to make the app not suck. Yet, I get flamed for not choosing an Open Source program over a propetary one.

OSS is not the same as GNU.
