What's with Canada and Topics?

Every time I come here now someone is either promoting or complaining about Canada... Is it that a lot of canadians come here? Is it that people for some reason are obsessed with Canada? I'm sure that there's some irrelevant reason and I probably shouldn't be wasting the time even asking, since I probably shouldn't even care, but I just think it's interesting Canada comes up so much.

Is there some sort of political statement i'm missing here? because I can't seem to find a centralized cause for any of this. (well, I haven't looked too hard because I don't really care, but it's interesting still)
