I don't think it's fair to say that Canada is "Better" than the states, cuz it's not, it's just different. Not that you said other wise worker I just wanted to say that
The US and Canada are closer as countries that any other two countries in the world, we may also be the most different in such proximity.

Another interesting thing to note is that the couple in question is planning to move from Minnesota to Vancouver. If all this couple cared about was politics and healthcare, they could just hop across the border to Manitoba. British Columbia is very different, climate-wise, than Minnesota.
Then again, they're not talking about moving to Seattle.
