Bosier is the name of a city. What makes you think it's a word? I live in a town called Enumclaw but I'm not looking it up in the dictionary or anything (actually it's a muckleshoot word that means land of evil spirits)

EDIT: Just a thought: A lot of coties in the US are French words and Bosier sounds like it could be French. Any French speakers here know?

It's 'Bossier', and yes, it's a French word. Its meaning is not obvious, though, as the word is quite archaic; it's not even in any of my dictionaries. It sounds like the word 'bosse', which is French for 'bump'.

After inquiries (ie. google), I found that 'bossier' is a variant of the word 'bosselier', which can either mean:

1) Glass blower who makes round shapes;
2) Manufacturer of horse blinkers;
3) Labourer who packs salt in barrels;
