So you get punished for skipping school by being forced to miss school?  That seems a bit counter-productive.....

my high school did that. if i missed two days or two classes with no note, they sent my ass home. cool right, i get to go home because i dont want to be there, courtesy mcqueen high  
of course, 10 missed classes resulted in an automatic failing grade, even if i aced all my tests and did my homework. lame

OMG
It was 28 absences to auto-fail for a full year course
14 for half year courses
