Hello Everybody:

I have a little problem.  There is a file that I really need to view and I can't open it.  I am not very computer savvy beyond pointing and clicking.  the file is a "temporary file" but I'm sure it was deliberately changed to prevent anyone from getting into it (otherwise why would someone burn several CD that has only these "temporary files" on it.

I hope you can give me a little advise or point me to a place that I can get the information for myself.

Thank you in advance

rtgwbmsr:
What OS? What File extension (the two to four letter thingy after the dot ex: mypresentation.prx)?

It's .tmp; and I have access to Windows 98 and Windows XP.

Thank you for taking the time to look at this for me.

Calum:
hold <shift> and right click the files. then select 'open with'.
Becuase windows cnnot tell what type of file it is, you will have to try opening it with a lot of different programs and see what result you get. If you used Linux for instance, you would just point and click them, and if a suitable program was installed to view those files with, it would just open using that automatically. Saves all this farting about that you will now have to do in windows.

rtgwbmsr:
Rename the file, and change the extension back to what it's supposed to be.
