This is to add Microsoft True Type fonts to your Linux. You will need access to Windows to do this. A good tip for this has already been made. I found no way to improve upon it, so I shall send you there...

Sorry to be pedantic, but you do not need access to windows to install truetype fonts in linux. i followed voidmain's instructions to the letter on a machine with no windows installed on it. I have a CD containing the 'fonts' folder from windows 2000, it does not have windows on the CD. in this case all i needed to do was copy the ttf fonts from that directory to achieve the desired result.

Sorry to be a bum about it, i know it's a minor point, but you are misleading people by saying they need windows for this trick. this is one more situation where windows itself is simply not required.

ok... you read your post again. You got fonts from windows2000 and put them on a CD.... does that not mean that you had to get them from windows?
you wouldnt have to if you downloaded them illegally, but i'm not gonna go find where i can.

(i changed it nonetheless, but it wont change till i upload my website again.)

no. the fonts can be downloaded in the case of the free ones (and there's a bog standard free assortment of free fonts in windows) and in the case of any illegal ones that might be among that lot, i am almost certain that carbon copies of those can be downloaded as well.
Might i point out also that had i had a real copy of windows handy instead (ie a windows 2000 install CD) it would have been completely useless to me for this endeavour, ie i would have had access to windows, and it would not have helped.
