All Things Microsoft > Microsoft as a Company
"Trustworthy Computing"
SpeeDFreaK:
Windows' sucking ass is how they sell service packs. And they probably don't tell them to not work to their full potential, they just give them tasks such as redesigning the start menu for the millionth time.
voidmain:
Think about it. If they were to write the "perfect" OS then they would go out of business due to never needing another upgrade to the next version of Windows or Office. So Microsoft intentionally writes shoddy software. It makes good business sense when you are interested in making money and not in producing quality products.

from "James Bond: Tommorrow Never Dies":
quote:
... and as you requested [our new software] has been shipped with thousands of bugs, so our customers will be purchasing upgrades for years....
--- End quote ---
makes sense. Besides, you can have a perfect os and still need to upgrade. consider the perfect of of 15 years ago. how much of today's hardware would work with it? New "perfect" os's / upgrades should be driven by the need to support new hardware, not to fix a bug that should not have been in there in the first place. in a perfect world of course.

Probably useless programmers.
I heard somewhere that it costs them 11 billion a year to maintain Internet Explorer.
Now, that REALLY sux. More like Incompetent Exploiter.
But then again, don't think I'm biased, I'm using a Windows XP machine to type up this -
STOP 0X7D INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE
AlexMax:
Trustwordthy Computing and Microsoft is a joke upon itself.
