In Canada a cop will confiscate your marijuanna and send you on your way. If you are charged(unlikely), your probably not gonna see a jail cell anyways.

I have trouble understanding how they can actually get away with locking up people(especially for a signifcant period of time) for smoking some d00b.

It's the same way in New York (where he was arrested) for the first 1 or 2 offenses if you have small amounts. If you go beyond that, you get jail time...

But it said he was charged with a Class B misdemeanor, which most likely means he had more than a little on him
