I'm not a n00b. I may have started posting this summer, but I've been here way longer than that. I care about this place a lot. The reason I say bin this crap is because that's what this is - crap. This, and the other 3 or 4 threads like this are just about a bunch of mods and current and former MES members going at each others throats, some about stuff that took place at a different forum dammit.
Christmas was a rebirth for this place with the assignment of a new admin and I wanna help make it great again. But as long as these threads remain they will be a reminder of the shit thats been going on here over the past few months. We need to get over it, toss out the trash, and move on. This is the Microsoft Eradication Society. Not the free speach debate society and not the Political Debate Society. A few funny threads here and there is ok, but when it gets out of hand like it did last week then something should be done about it.

Define "crap" xeen. What is "crap" to you? Crap to you might be something useful and worthwhile to somebody else. That's exactly why a charter is needed for mods. Moderators DO NOT decide what's "worthwhile". It is not their place to measure the value of a post or thread.

Again, define "trash" xeen. I certainly hope that getting back to this place, which was apparently some great task for you guys, based on Refalm's rather brusque and rude PM (unless he was pullin' my leg)... doesn't mean I'm simply going to see it go back downhill soon because you get all the mods going into this bin-happy fervor.

the key to a good forum is to be able to talk about nothing. That is the whole point to conversations on the internet. If all you talk about is MS did that or Linux added this feature. It gets boring. But if you talk about how MP accidentally erased all of the messages and it goes on and on about nothing. That is what makes forums great. If you want news go to CNN. If you want to talk and have fun come to a forum. Moderators have two purposes. To delete dual posts (and not a post that is similar to a post from 2 years ago) and to trash troll threads Thats it. They do not delete nothing talk they do not delete stuff they do not agree with. They trash trolls and that is it.
