Pop or Soda?
Zombie9920:
Sometimes I call it pop
Sometimes I call it soda
Sometimes I call it Soda Pop
Usually I call it by it's name(Mountain Dew, Dr. Pepper, Pepsi, Coke, Root Beer, etc.)
It all depends on what comes to mind and my frame of mind at the time when I say it.
I usually just say pop when I'm stoned or drunk
I usually say soda when I'm sober but I'm in a rush to get the sentence out.
I usually say Soda Pop when I'm tired.
I'll say the proper name when I'm sober, not tired and I feel like being proper(most of the time).
Keep in mind that I don't always say it by that little guide above though. Sometimes I'll use the different wording in different frames of mind(different than what I just listed). It all just depends on what comes to mind when I'm saying it pretty much.

Ready???
Texas...thier all cokes, it is the responsiblity of the waiter/waitress to ask what kind.
my wife is british, in reply to the chips comment
she calls fries = chips
chips = crisps
jam = jelly
jelly = jello
biscuits = scondes
cookies = biscuits
IM SO CONFUSEDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD!!!!
Zombie9920:
Around here the waiters/waitresses don't ask, "What coke do you want?". They ask, "What would you like to drink?".
(EDIT)It would confuse me if my wife called items by names of differnt items too.
My wife is like me. She usually tries to call stuff by it's proper name.

Poor guy. I bet it is hell when she wants you to cook for her. She tells you to make her something, but after you make it she gets upset because you made the wrong thing(you didn't make the wrong thing, her termanolgy just suggests that you did).
