The internet... dying?

I'm surprised too but some people still spend that on a PC. The type of monitor they buy can bump up the price a fair bit too. The teaser $499.00 ad is just bait and switch stuff. By the time you add the right memory size, disk size etc, you're up to a grand easy. M$ of course contributes to this perpetual upgrade with their ever increasing "OS" bloatness.
Look at the price of a Mac, lovely machines but what a price.

Yes, if you want something with a little zing you can easily get back up to $4000 and more, but you can still get a machine to do what you want for cheap. $150 and my sister is as snug as a bug.

What exactly is IPv4 and IPv6? And are you saying that...
A)It's a big problem that they are going to move to IPv6.
OR
B)It's a big problem that they might not move to IPv6.
Faust:
You know how ipv4 (what we use) is a set lot of numbers? Basically there are only so many numbers available, and we're running out. ipv6 has more numbers (geez i have difficulty remembering ips now...) so it will fit more people. A lot of companies now use vpns to split up lots of computers on illegal sub-blocks because there just arent enough ip addresses available.

The internet is not dieing
promote-opensource.org will however if you dont go there
TheQuirk:
Oh please. IPv4 is just fine for now, as long as you don't get an IP address for everything you own and your dog. I belive Slashdot had this question before, and most IT said they aren't even going to think of switching to IPv6 for at least another ten years because IPv4 suits them just fine for now.
When the .com boom was happening, maybe this was justified. But now that people are actually thinking about what they're doing with their IPs, IPv4 doesn't seem like it'll run out in a month.
Or in five years.
Maybe ten.
