Microsoft has a monopoly because people think they have one, and think that Windows is the only OS for the x86 platform. They may even heard about Linux, but think of it as "too difficult for me", while that isn't true.
They only difficulty though, if you can't read English, you have to ask someone to select your language for you.

yeah i think you are right...even i dont think usin lonux is hard..but people have become used to Windows..so i think so you are right about monopoly..cause of long term trust...
