What a bunch of idiots:

quote:It's a strange situation Microsoft Corp. finds itself in: To convince customers that they need to buy the latest version of its Office business software
--- End quote ---

quote:one technique Microsoft is employing to nudge the transition this time around is by discontinuing support of an older version of the software suite, Office 97.
--- End quote ---

And everybody wonders why MS is evil! Office 97 can still be wonderful for tons of people. I know from experience. I always install Office 97 on machines that I don't want to bloat with all the stuff Office 2000 and XP do to the system. Honestly, there is NOTHING in Office 2000, XP, or 2003 that Office 97 isn't good for. MS shouldnt have the right to fuck their customers like that.

quote:"The most attractive features could require buying another piece of software to get the full value."
--- End quote ---

Any more proof required of MS scratching software vendors' backs?
