I really don't know if Win98 SE is/was the best OS M$ ever put out, but I sure as hell know that it was the LAST M$ OS I'll ever use.  And I haven't used that for about a year or so now.

At least with the Win9x OS's you could still boot to DOS and get past some of the Windows nonsense and delete "protected" files like index.dat files and etc.  

But like I said, that's all in the past now.  My "main" computer is set up for dual boot; RedHat9 and Fedora Core 1.
