Microsoft Bundles Emulation Software
« on: 12 August 2003, 19:43 »
Remember a while ago when microsoft bought Virtual PC from Connectix? Well according to this article, microsoft is bundling it with their next version of OS X office. Does this make sense to anyone? Don't they want us to run their OS? How do I know that they haven't integrated spyware or start leaving security holes? I think I'll just stick with the pirated copy I have right now.

Plus, this was my 200th post! Hooray!

Remember, Mac OS X is just a hop-skip-jump from Linux compatibility.  This allows MS to work on their future Linux versions (thus somewhat enhancing their survivial chances against Linux/Mozilla/Star-OpenOffice) without panicking their investers by announcing that Office runs on Unix/Linux now.  MS, despite it's recent games, is no longer in a position to fight the big dogs, and it financially can't afford to try and outbid IBM for SCO, even if SCO somehow wins it's BS linux IP case.  (Not to mention that MS is directly forbidden from owning a Unix asset by previous court demands.)
