Has anyone here used RiscOS?

(1/1)

Laukev7:
I briefly played with it with the Red Squirrel emulator for Windows (there's ArcEm for Linux and MacOS, but I never tried it), and I find it quite good, especially for the year it was created. Many say that it sports an excellent interface. Anyone can give his opinion on RiscOS?

Calum:
i have never used it but it sounds great, the only problems are that it is hugely expensive, and needs a hugely expensive computer (which is incompatible with other systems) to use it, and it is closed source. even if i could afford it, the closed source nature deters me, i am not too keen on gambling

Laukev7:
That much? Where do you get your figures? Castle Ltd. sells RiscPCs for prices as low as

choasforages:
i know, but i live on the other side of the pond

i would love to play around with a risc os/arm machine. but i dought ill get my hand's on one. im stuck with too much x86 junk to begin with.

now i have heard that it boots fast and is quite user friendly, but since i don't have a box sitting here, i would'nt know for sure
