Hey could you link me to some articles about that. I was told that leaving a computer on was just best for it, I was never told why though.

That being said, it should be noted that most people have to weigh keeping their systems on 24/7 against the price paid to PG&E or whoever handles their electrical supply for a constant power supply, particularly when they're running multiple servers. I actually feel more comfortable killing my tower at night, because I have certain ports open on a full-time basis for remote ease-of-access. Keep in mind, however, that my Seagate primary drive still has two more years on its warranty, so any failure in that time forces them to recover the data to a new drive.
