Well, at least for brian dead hardware intensive Win* applications.  Either that or get yourself another computer which is probably the best choice (I have 8 machines on my home network, and several "virtual machines" thanks to VMware).

Hey Calum, I shouldn't have been so quick to say that DirectX does not work.  I just ran "dxdiag" on my RedHat 7.3/VMware 3.1 system running Win2k Advanced Server as a guest (on a Dell laptop mind you) and all the "Sound" portions of Direct X worked just fine. Some of the video stuff worked but the Direct3D video stuff did not.  So I guess your mileage may vary.  I believe the direct3D video stuff has a hard time because it needs to change video modes and color depths.  You can certainly try it for free.  Again, you'll want a fast machine with lots of RAM though...

i'm more bothered about sound than video, and if i imagine correctly, it won't be long before any gaps are closed up, that's good to hear, vmware sure does sound good.

Who the hell would want to emulate a Mac?  Windows doesn't need an emulator because you can just run Mac programs and they'll be 100 times better than any windows programs you could ever run. Anyway i'm a complete dumbass and you should ignore everything that I say.

I agree. I only use my Mac emulator for the voices.
