Microsoft software partner finds Microsoft software cheaper than Linux

<< < (3/4) > >>

BeOSUser:
My WinXP computer (after I maximized the window) rebooted but my Win2000 computer didn't do anything.

noob:
1 word. BOLLOCKS. i dont have to reboot when i update linux. i dont have to download them, then click install. how can totally free software be more expensive to update than windows? windows updates are free, wwell the minor ones. dont forget 98 second edition. windows costs to buy, costs to run. linux is free from the start.

If you want me to discourse on this some time, let me know.  It mostly has to do with the faulty assertion that training costs are part of the cost of updating, when they're REALLY TCO (if they're to be considered at all, given that someone has to learn SOME part of the system sooner or later).  It's a highly subjective standard.

That's right.  I never once paid for anything on Linux.  I had to buy Windows 98, then 2k, then XP to receive continued update support.  It's complete marketing bull.

noob:
saying that, all my copies of windows are the corperate versions. so they are free for me to get, i know people, and they dont get stopped by the windows update thing. and i dont need to register, cause they only need the license key :D. AND LEGAL!!!!
