Outlook Express is going out - Windows Mail is coming in. The name change also brings with it a set of changes, among other things the UI and a "Search as you type" thingie. Tha last thing, where have we seen that before? Oh yeah, Apple among other companies made that feature popular!.

I think the new look stinks, as did the new look for Office, if you remember.

Funny, last I heard MS was going to drop real email clients from the OS bundle and point the mail api towards hotmail.

Change the name, change the UI, add irrelevant features: that's fixing things the Microsoft way.  :D

They're rebranding everything to "Windows".

ie MSN Messenger to Windows Live Messenger

It's all mind tricks on the regular home user "oh, this is the windows one".
