Probably a combination of all these reasons .. hey, I really tried to be nice, to speak well, not to speak at all, nothing helped ... actually, people were much friendlier in rural areas than in large cities (I've been to many more French cities than Paris ... in fact Paris was the friendliest city there) ... whatever, I'd much rather go to the Netherlands, the general attitude towards tourists is much better there :)

Clearly, you have never worked as a waiter. It's one of the crappiest jobs in the world even when the customers are polite, the tips are good, and you can understand every word your customers speak. Imagine how shitty it must be when the customers are rude, the tips are shit, and you can barely understand a thing your customers are saying. Try going to a restaurant in the US and mumbling and treating the waitress like she has an IQ of 40. See how your service compares to a French waiter.
Oh, and fuck rich white girls. No pun intended. How many people just disappeared from Guatemala in the 70s when it was run by US selected officials? Yeah, that's right, hundreds of thousands. And there wasn't anything about that in any US newspaper or tv show.
