It may be a good OS (I don't know yet), but seeing as the Xbox has such high specs, and it'll be designed mainly for that, I can't see the Xbox OS going too far.

Ya never know, they did mention about integrated stuff, but wha ever thos OS is must be very effeicent and fast and stable and user friendly

i think the new xbox os is based off of the old xbox os. unless they "stole" some more code from the *bsds....wouldn't; it be sick if the xbox os was based off of darwin?(i forget the license for darwin) i don't think i would sleep well

I have this Ray Charles LP, where he plays Yesterday and Elenor Rigby by Paul McCarthy (I know it's not Lennon). These are both great, Elenor Rigby is incredible in it's jazzed up form.

Well, the games on Nintendo are probably more fun than most ones found on the other 2 consoles, but Nintendo usually lags in graphics and in specs (Processor clock speed, GPU specs, etc.)
I know most people say:
Gameplay > Graphics ... but I say:
Gameplay = Graphics
Bad graphics does affect gameplay quite a bit, at least for me.

While bad graphics can be quite distracting it's plot that matters the most. If theres no plot theres just no point in playing it. Unless you like random violence.

I love random violence :D, but yeah plot certainly does matter, I know a lot of games that after you play them you ask yourself:
"Well this game sucks ... Why did I decide to play this game ?"
I said this to myself after playing through most of Splinter Cell 3: Chaos Theory ... I highly reccomend that you do NOT get this game, it is a disgrace to both of the other Splinter Cell games. And the fucking ads are everywhere ... it's like playing an advertizement with no plot other than to get you to buy Nokia phones and other useless shit.
Actually, Mechwarrior 2: Mercenaries by Activision (an ancient game) has horrible graphics, but it is really fun ... while Mechwarrior 4: Mercenaries by Microsoft is nowhere nearly as fun ... in fact the plot is fucking retarded, the graphics are good though. Is MW 4 a lot less fun than MW 2 ? Yes, and it's because the plot sux.
So why did I say graphics = gameplay ?
Beacuse with today's technology making a game with really bad graphics and good gameplay is just lazy in my opinion. I mean I dont need the best graphics possible, but not spending time to make the game look even decent is just fucking lazy, why buy it ?
So the graphics don't have to be really good, but they should not be really shitty either :thumbup:

What does the PS3 have over the XBOX 360 again, besides the 2x gigaflops speed, a (possibly seperate) HDD with GNU\Linux, and better backwards-compatibility?
I don't consider BD-ROM to be an advantage, by the way, considering how apparently it's going to be all DRM-ed up (worse than DVD, with a changing encryption scheme possible). I'm glad MS didn't go with HD-ROM in the initial XBOX 360 release, considering how it's also suffering from more DRM.
I would like to see the PS3 be successful, but at the same time not, because of the whole BD-ROM thing.
