Title: Question about xfering files.

I have a file on my laptop and I need to transfer it to my desktop via serial cable.  I have the computers connected but I cant find out how to send it.  If anyone knows please enlighten me.

ftp://and.the.ip.address. (http://ftp://and.the.ip.address.) that might work. you might also need to have a user name & password.

plug a 6-pin FireWire cable (not cheapo 4-pin "1394" cable) into the FW ports on both, restart one, holding down the "T" key. that computer's HD will mount on the other's desktop.... oh, wait... probably not Apple computers, never mind! That elegant trick won't work
