Snail Mail.

BSSes

Everyone puts an antenna on their house and runs a wireless network with their non-palladium PCs. And we do everything we can to make sure that all computers aren't legally required to have palladium.

Mass suicide sounds like a good option. Teehee. . .

no

Start hoarding Macs and Sun machines ASAP people!

No need for an Alternative to PC.... The fritz chip could simply be emulated between the PC -- Internet, just make a device the emulates TCPA servers on your LAN Gateway, That doesnt send a single byte to TCP-A.
G4, Sparc, Alpha, X-Bitch ;), Playstation III (It should be out by then). Lets not forget that Linux may be able to run on a Fritz system, and will only require some special software.

Well in a quick reread of the thread gave me some time to decide this...
Im not going to upgrade, or buy x86 parts anymore... I have just given up Windows almost completely, and now PC. I will be getting a sparc or an eMac most likly but fuck the 86 shit. No more upgrades for me... Intel, Amd, can suck my balls!

A pirate box for computers!
Maybe we can integrate the pirate boxes so I can have my TV/Pr0n, Cable Modem, and TCPA bypass all in one box :D

Anyway,
Microsoft is prohibited from retaliating against computer makers or independent software makers that consider "developing, distributing, promoting, using, selling or licensing any software that competes with Microsoft Platform Software or any product or service that distributes or promotes any Non-Microsoft Middleware," the judge said in her final judgement.
So with this Microsoft will either not be able to release palldium if it competes or have to release a good amount of source code so you can make things compatable. That will also aid to the design of Fritz Firewalls. Or maybe Microsoft will just move to more phisical forms of world domination rather then using Computers to simply rule the Computer Age.

yes indeed, nobody said you couldn't connect to the internet without a fritz chip, did they? that's fucking ludicrous! maybe you broadbandies would have a bit of a hard time, i don't know, but now people know there's an internet, i am not sure how successful a mere company will be in trying to stop people using it.
also, re: not using x86, hmm, not the answer, but good, if you can afford a more stable machine i suppose...
i just like the intel style machines as they are cheap and easily fiddled with compared with a mac, and i have never really got my hands on any other computers (except amiga, commodore and atari ste and they don't really count).
-
I just dont want to upgrade because of the fact that hardware will start shipping with Fritz Inside and it would be pointless to upgrade to a new Intel because it would be quickly obselete because the new Fritz hardware will be the new stuff and i dont want it. So my answer is to get a Second hand G4 or a Sparc of ebay, and upgrade it... Its cheaper in the Long run. Maybe i will just get Playstation II Linux and stick with that. Or just slowly accumlate more Intel Hardware, and instead of upgrading them, just add them to a beowulf cluster... Until it becomes very big.

In a TCPA future I imagine a large intranet in each city run in BBS form. Except it's a modified BBS so it sort of acts like a webserver but is still a BBS at heart.
Hmmm im wondering something. Is it possible to send binary data over radio waves? That would be cool having an underground BBS system based on radios, and converting radio waves to binary. Or perhaps radio might be too unreliable to prevent data corruption, so all computer commands are transmited and run as plain english text strings, and the computer would reliable for figuring out what a half-chewed up english text string actually is.
