The DVD Copy Control Association is now suing the company that makes the DVD-X-Copy software because it lets people make copies of movies.

The move also reflects the organization's strategic shift to go after businesses instead of individuals. Last month, the group dropped its trade secret case against San Francisco programmer Andrew Bunner and hundreds of others who helped post on the Internet copies of a code that cracks the movie copy-protection technology known as the Content Scramble System.

The MPAA won its case against 321 Studios!!! The court ordered the company to immediately stop selling the software, but they will appeal.
Fuck this. This is outrageous.

Oh holdon wait a sec!

St. Louis-based 321 Studios said it would appeal the ruling by Judge Susan Illston of U.S. District Court in San Francisco.
So that means the appeal would go to the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals of San Franciso, right? They're the legendary "most liberal court in America" as popularized by Bill O'Reilly. :D

I don't think a liberal court will make much of a difference. Many liberals get a lot of backing (campaing contributions, etc.) from the MPAA.
