Seems to be another low for the RIAA, suing whole families that don't have a computer.
A repeat of the women incident.

Too bad they are able to convert an IP address into a home address.

Only on America.

In the woman incident, she had a computer but never used it.  Her son used it, or something.

But the RIAA tops themselves again...no computer required at all!

Good counterpoint.

Also, many people get fucked by insecure wireless access points.
A family wants to use their laptop in the garden, and they buy an access point. They connect it to their cable modem and voila, it works.
People drive by their house, notice an open connection and use it to download the latest movies from all kinds of file sharing services.

Exactly ... in fact there are open, unencrypted WiFi connections all around town ... if I wanted to download something not-too-legal all I gotta do is take my laptop and go wardriving ... or maybe get a large, high-gain WiFi antenna and not have to go anywhere. Their "evidence", whatever it may be should not be permissible in court ... it's too unreliable. (The only possible evidence in this case is the HDD ... that's why you gotta have DBan)

..which is why they do their shenanigans in civil court, where the accused has no right to a lawyer and is pretty much forced to settle and pay whatever the RIAA wants.
