Title: Permissions for XMMS plugins
Post by: Agent007 on 3 November 2002, 16:22
Hi all,

I have installed the OSS/3d plugin for XMMS in the root account. When, XMMS is run in some other user account other than root, the plugin is not visible allthough all others are(input, output, visualisation) I have enabled the 'enter' permissions for 'others' in the root folder but the plugin is still not visible. The plugin is installed in the default folder.

Does the plugin need to be installed again in all the other user accounts too?

thanks,
007

hmm, all i can say is to look for xmms's /usr/lib/xmms and and take the plugin that is in the root dir and stick it in the corresponding folder in /usr/lib/xmms like if you found it in /root/.xmms/Effect or something stick it in /usr/lib/xmms/Effect. then chmod it +rx
