I have an hp psc 1310, it's USB. It printed fine before I reformatted and won't anymore, not really sure why. It's detected by CUPS and I add it along with the driver, however when I choose print - nothing happens.
using Ubuntu 5.10 breezy
(I have hplip/gs-script/etc, it worked fine before)

Try going to http://localhost:631 in your browser and see if you notice anything wrong.
Does anything happen with the printer when you go to print?
-
not sure if anything is wrong, all I can get through that is
HP PSC 1310 Foomatic/hpijs (recommended)
Description: PSC-1310
Location:
Printer State: idle, accepting jobs.
Device URI: hp:/usb/psc_1310_series?serial=CN4B1C319FV4
However things like Administration are 'diabled'
Administrative commands are disabled in the web interface for security reasons. Please use the GNOME CUPS manager (System > Administration > Printing).
Nothing at all happens when I print. :confused:

Whoah ... don't do that man. I've found that there are solutions to nearly every problem in the Linux world ... you just gotta look for them, and most importantly, don't give up. ;)
(Best example I have of this is me trying to install different Linux distros at least 20-30 times before getting it to work ... and it worked in the end ... and no more Window$ EVER AGAIN !)
