Title: Linux and coremode equivalent?
Post by: lazygamer on 10 May 2003, 17:42
Ok so you know how XP has this "core mode" thing which allows the XP OS to load entirely into memory? It needs 512mb ram minimum and 1024mb to be a good idea.

What about Linux? Does it have it's own core mode equivalent, but with much lower RAM requirements? I think it would impress my bro alot if Linux could do a core modeish thing on half the ram!  (http://smile.gif)

Knoppix loads from CD-ROM and requires 128 MB RAM.
