There parallels between Hitler and Gates do seem to go somewhat deeper........or i'm just overanalysing.

In the 1930's the way the powers that be handled Hitler was through appeasement, i.e. give him what he wants and hopefully we wont have to go to war. Microsoft equivalent - the past years of M$'s unchecked corporate terrorism, the DoJ's settlement which is little more than surrender. The release Palladium/TCPA will be the formal declaration of war in Gates' attempt to eradicate the users of free software ala Hitler's Holocaust. Perhaps Redmond will become the site of the 21st century equivalent of the Nuremberg trials??? Perhaps more interestingly, what will be the M$ equivalent of D-day???

Hitler II, thats a fitting name.  He really does want world domination.

The US freedom and democracy are buried.

This is true.

Enjoy well-covered tyranny.

Never!  Theres got to be somewhere to run to.  Do you think Canada will be able to stand strong against the evil influence from the south?  Can Australia keep the greedy pigopolist's fingers off their shores?  Will Eng...uh nevremind.

This is off topic in a way but it's in reply to somethin brought up. In regards to Bush's oil interests.....I thought it was bleeding obvious. If Bush can get his grubby mits on Iraqi oil (their reserves are second in size only to Saudi Arabia) then America can free their proverbial cojones from the grips of OPEC. Shit, Bush's buddies in Texas are gonna be yee-hawin their way to the bank. Unocal has already started building an oil pipeline through Afghanistan (which the Taliban was against....gee i wonder why Bush was so keen on having them ousted?). So let's see....Iraq oil + untapped reserves in Bangladesh (discovered by Unocal) + Afghan pipeline (which will flow straight into a market consisting a third of the world's population) = a LOT of $$$.

IMO Bush's "War on Terror" equates to "War for Oil  and endless money". Opinions, anyone?

why isnt M$ paying taxes??? Ummmm........shouldnt you be asking why isnt ALL OF CORPORATE AMERICA paying taxes????

But the answer is simple.....they're rich enough to  exploit loopholes in the tax system. My brother-in-law used to work for Arthur Andersen but he quit because he had a guilty conscience over what he was doing.

Republicans now control the senate, which essentially means that the most powerful nation in the world is being controlled by a bunch of hillbillies. Does this scare anyone else?

Kent B, can I use your rant for my website?

Great........maybe we can make a new TV show - the white house hillbillies! Hell they could use their real names.......i mean we got George, George jr and his brother Jeb (now that's a hick name if i ever heard one).

Now all we need are some lyrics to the opening theme.
"Come now and listen to a story about a boy named george........"

This doesn't scare me in the least. I would rather have hillbillies than bums. At least something might actually get done for a change.

not true, or why would we be posting here?
As RMS is so fond of pointing out, the closed software community is always threatening to stop or put back some aspect of the open software community. In the same way, the conservative party, for instance, are always a threat to the labour administration, regardless of how foolish they look. This is because some people think one way and some think another. Whatever a lot of people use becomes a standard, now that the net exists, and the market, and more importantly the user base, follows along. If only proprietary standards are set, then open style computing is in a lot of trouble.
