I wonder how much money Bill Gates made off Hurricane Katrina Surely, he found some way to profit from it.

Hmmm...they're right...I can't get to the "Register for Assistance" link in Opera...
-
This website was probably cobbled together very quickly and they didn't even stop to consider any compatability issues.
-
Hurricane website is IE only
Wow i wonder why ?
-
So that Microsoft get all the praise, but what have they REALLY done so far to help?

Reasonable doubt as to the veracity of that statement:
http://www.fema.gov/txt//privacy.txt
if you glance at the date at the very bottom of the page, you will see that at least the primary framework of the online system was built almost a year ago.

still that does not excuse them from not makeing it acouding to the WWW(W3)
standard !

Agreed. I was simply pointing out that they planned to screw non-IE users years ago.
-
That's really annoying.
-
It does suggest some sort of partnership between Bill Gates and George Bush, Inc. It would be much easier for the government to monitor and censor Internet traffic if it all passed through Microsoftware.
-
Seems about right. :(
-
Yep, that would make perfect sense. Maybe Saddam used Linux...
-
Governments all over the world have a reputation of creating critical and highly informative website in the standards of MSHTML and lots of VisualBasic script.
Although I must agree that Microsoft has improved its web software a bit with FrontPage 2003 and ASP .NET (however Internet Explorer still sucks deeply), governments still feel the need to lock people out who aren't using Internet Explorer or Windows even.
Governments seem to hire web developers who will check their freshly created website only in Internet Explorer, which is the only browser in the world to their knowledge, or still have the wrong idea that 99% of all people use Internet Explorer, while this is not true by far (http://www.w3schools.com/browsers/browsers_stats.asp).

Holly shit Refalm, FireFox has been in decline since May and it wouldn't bother me if Opera had gained Firefox's loss, sadly it appears that Microsoft Internet Explorer have.

This is because there have been a run on new computers in east Asian countries. And most desktop computers come with Windows and Internet Explorer.
Also the media reporting every security flaw in Firefox, still not recognising that Mozilla fixed their huge security flaws in at least one week (usually in one day) and Microsoft can take up to 6 months.
-
Or Mozilla can take up to 6 years.
There are bugs that crash firefox that are not fixed, that are 6 years old.
-
Some have been fixed in 1.07 haven't they?
They should really fix them, but it beats IE.
Opera should grow in marketshare now that it's free. That eliminates just about my only complaint about it.

I haven't used Firefox lately, so I've forgot how often it actually crashed. I edited my post.

Firefox crashes?
-
Firefox crashes?
Yes, it crashes when some plugins are loaded or when it doesn't understand DHTML code.
-
It hasn't ever unexpectadly crashed on me.
Unless you count crases in beta releases (I don't, because you should expect crashes in beta releases).

What browsewr do you use then Refalm? Are you an Opera man by any chance?

Hell yes :)
-
Yeah, I'd have to agree, I've not had FF crash on me, ever unless its beta or if a beta extention is causing shit.
-
Beta? You people suck. Run Alpha releases or CVS current releases.
