Title: Gaikai game streaming on Linux
Post by: Refalm on 24 November 2010, 10:47
Mass Effect 2 under linux with GAIKAI ( streaming game ) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mQJZsztC2kA#ws)

Unlike OnLive which only works on Windows and Mac OS X, Gaikai has an open beta which works on Linux. You just need to have Flash and Java installed.
Although Gaikai isn't going to be a games-on-demand service, but more a demo channel, this is pretty good news for Linux gaming.

I personally can't sign up, because I'm not a US citizen, but if you happen to be one, you can sign up here:

I signed up. They won't send me an email though until there are more beta invites left.

I hope they'll eventually be able to port this over to HTML5, because flash performance, especially at higher resolutions really isn't that great.
