Title: No Apple magsafe car charger
Post by: davidnix71 on 22 January 2011, 03:40
I don't understand Apple's reason for not making one, Kensington and others have done it using Apple's own part. Which brings me to the next question.

I see replacement Apple magsafe chargers for sale for $20 to $30. That's a pretty low barrier to a macgyver. Buy the real thing and splice it into a car charger. What exactly is Apple trying to accomplish except to piss people off?

Very few people use or want MacBook car chargers, and the minority that do are more easily accommodated by companies whose bread and butter are niche accessories.

iPhones/iTouches and iPads are much more practical in an automobile for most people.
