Title: ./cofigure blues
Post by: Doogee on 18 October 2002, 20:25: hey, when i ando the tarball thingo and im excited, ready to install my new program (this is exciting for a newbie (http://tongue.gif) ) i do the ./configure i get near the end (i think) then it gets too:

please help me, this is stopping me from installing lots of stuff id like to install.

Im using red hat 7.3 under KDE 3

hmmmmmmm.... is that the only error? or does it say somewhere "Searching for window maneger in somwhere... no found"?

What you probably don't have installed are the Xwindows "devel" RPMs (headers). You'll need those if you want to be able to compile and install from source. With binary RPMs they are not necessary. You just install and go. But you might want to ask Calum. He runs IceWM on Mandrake if I recall. I don't run Mandrake or IceWM so I can't help you much beyond that.
