Title: Hardware Compaitibility question
Post by: LorKorub on 9 November 2002, 06:07
I have a laptop that I would like to install Debian on, but it doesn't have a Cd-rom drive. I was thinking about purchasing this:

http://www.laptopsforless.com/dellcdrom.htm (http://www.laptopsforless.com/dellcdrom.htm)

It is the one at the bottom...the external drive.

Will this drive be supported under Linux?  It has only drivers for $hitblows, but I remember Debian offering PCMCIA support during the install.  Should this work?  I don't know shit about laptops.
