Title: Google agrees: MS Windows security is pants

So, MS Windows, it's so secure these days blah blah blah, Microsoft firewall, yap yap yap, no viruses etc etc.

Interestingly Google seems willing to put time and effort into removing MS Windows for security reasons.
Paranoia, or pragmatism? You decide.

TCO. Windows Server 2008 is expensive. Google have like five or six times the money available to them anyway, and they are working on their own OS. They will probably move to an in-house operating system. Google love to customize things, they fork linux and don't contribute back, and Windows isn't really the best system to modify.

hmm, MS' rebuttal: http://windowsteamblog.com/windows/b/bloggingwindows/archive/2010/06/01/windows-and-security-setting-the-record-straight.aspx (http://windowsteamblog.com/windows/b/bloggingwindows/archive/2010/06/01/windows-and-security-setting-the-record-straight.aspx)

The Reg's reader comments: http://forums.theregister.co.uk/forum/2/2010/06/02/google_microsoft_security_grumbles/ (http://forums.theregister.co.uk/forum/2/2010/06/02/google_microsoft_security_grumbles/)

So yeah, perhaps Google are simply making a publicity appeal to publicise its own impending OS release.

There have been some serious flaws in Windows 7, mostly all rooted in the drivers being able to do whatever they want in memory. It takes an exceptionally stupid person to install an unsigned driver though.

Pants?
yes, sorry, UK only slang, i suppose. Quite common in this country to use "pants" in this way, more eg here:

Yes, someone I knew with the surname Brown used to get called brown pants, often abbreviated to pants.

I don't why the person who was pissed off with their bank didn't just change to Barclays if it's better.

EDIT:
By the way pants are underwear in the UK, what you call pants are trousers here.

A fanny is also a pussy. The most offensive words are cunt (means the same as pussy but is much worse) and spastic which is technically refers to muscle spasticity caused by cerebral palsy but gets used as a slang for retarded.

That article seems to have a lot of controversy.
