Title: Startup prob with me laptop
Post by: buzza24 on 7 May 2003, 10:08
Hello Folks,

I have a problem with my Apple Powerbook 190cs.

I turn it on, the boot is fine. But when the desktop appears, there are no icons and the menus are frozen but the mouse works fine.

Can any one help me with this issue?

P.S. If I have to transfer anything to it, it has to fit on a 1.4mb floppy disk.

hmmm.... sounds like a bad extension. Hold down shift as you restart. This will turn your extensions off.

Then you can take extensions out of the extension folder in order to truble shoot. Let me know.

Same thing happened to my Centris when I tried to use a program called Kaleidascope that change its look. I took out all the extensions but I can't narrow down which one it is so I've just left them out for six months. All I do is word process and play games from the eighties with it anyway.
