Why should you buy an Xbox?
1. Xbox has a LOT of awesome games. According to IGN the Xbox has a higher percentage of its games rate >8 than both PS2 and Gamecube. 45% of Xbox games released are rated >8 compared to 41% of PS2 and 36% of Gamecube.
2. Xbox has a awesome games lineup for the next 6 months... Amped2, BC, TopSpin, Kameo, Sudeki, Fable, Gothem2, Halo2 etc
3. Xbox gets a lot of good FPS PC games... Unreal, Unreal Tournament, Counter-Strike, Doom3, Halflife2 etc
4. Xbox gets a lot of original (although sometimes pretty ordinary) games... Oddworld series, Blinx, Whacked!, Psychonauts, Blood Wake
5. Games play better on Xbox. Better frame rates, better graphics and better sound (in-game dolby 5.1). For a PC comparison, I ran the same demo on my Xbox and on my PC (Athlon2400, Geforce ti4200). The frame rate on the Xbox was 2.5 times FASTER than the PC.
6. Xbox has an easier to use, more feature rich online service than the other consoles."

Not like it matters, XBox still has better games than PS2. Might not have as many, but they're higher quality, better, and it's not a PS2, the worst example of industrial design I've seen in years.
And guess what, that's my opinion on the matter. I'm sick of saying what I think and then have people tell me I'm "wrong" for what I think.
I FEEL THAT THE XBOX RULES AND THE PS2 IS A GARBAGE HEAP
PS2 gets a bunch of crappy games that look like cheap anime. Shit like FFX and, Jesus, what a rip, FFX2. Of late, everything that's come out for ShitStation 2 has been a bunch of half-ass vampire games and cheapo fantasy crap. There hasn't even been a good Final Fantasy game since 9. X was a turd, making everything into cheesy cheap anime style. Barring some of the RTS-style games like Final Fantasy Tactics and Disgaea (SP?), PS2 games are a crap pot of crap.
I've just spent the last four months living with a PS2 fanboy, and if I never see one of those shittastic things again, that's fine by me. XBox has well-made games. Even the lesser games for the thing are higher quality than the best PS2 games.

I used to own Xbox and PS2, Even though I hate M$ Xbox is better, better hardware, few good games, only part I HATE is that they make you pay for playing Online and PS2 DOesnt!

How about CASTLEVANIA. I'll give it some hoitytoity classical music-related name so that it sounds more upper class, because all vampires are either rich aristocrats, or they're ravers. Or both.
Maybe as a follow up I'll create another "fantasy realm button masher". And have some fairycake elves run around and do fencing moves with a 20 foot long slab of metal. I know! I'll do something original and "mix up" genres of game! I'll have the first ever sidescrolling, look-down first person realtime roleplaying strategy shooter fantasy vampire game!

in the case of xbox i don't care if its by microsoft and or uses intel stuff. i dont care. its a console, not a computer. xbox doesn't force you to upgrade it or add new hardware and software like a pc using microsoft and intel shit. its a good console, nothing more. its definitley better than ps2 in many respects. i like my xbox but i hate my windows pc. consoles are a cheap gaming solution for people who can't afford to continuously upgrade their computers just to run the latest games. so really, what is so bad about xbox besides the fact that its owned by microsoft?

I like nintendo... hehe... yeah... smash brothers and stuff... getting sleepy here so dont blow up at me... yeah, the game, the halo (i remembered :D )... that game is pretty good... but id rather play perfect dark for N64... (my opinion...)... yeah... im thinking that perhaps its getting too good... maybe we've gotten to the point where people no longer know to make good games with that amount of graphics... probably not... but a nice theory...

This isnt a troll thread in my opinion x11. Its a discussion on features and differences between the xbox and other video game systems and why some like it and why some dont.

The DvD players in them go bad on them after months of use. My repair shop is constantly replacing them in the xbox's.

You don't even have any goddamn examples of these "superior xbox only games". If you think DOA Beach Vollyball is a good fucking game then you need to get a foot up your ass, or better yet, an xbox. Or maybe you could go have fun playing Blinx the Time Travelling Cat or whatever the fuck it's called. Let me just give you some examples of GOOD games that are on PS2:
-Grand Theft Auto 3 and Vice City (So good and so popular on the PS2 that they are now BOTH on Xbox!)
-Gran Turismo 3: A-spec (The BEST racing simulator. Period.)
-Ratchet and Clank, Jak and Daxter (Superb quality 3D platformers)
-Metal Gear Solid 2 (Once again, such a hit on PS2 that they put it on Xbox)
-The Tony Hawk Series (I'm not a fan of them but the sales of them should speak for themselves).
Now, please come to the realization that the Xbox is nothing more than a Windows PC with (huge) controllers and is just another of Microsofts MANY attempts to take over a money-making market. I can only hope that they fail this time, but retards like you help them succeed.

I agree, the xbox hasn't had a single stand out game aside from Halo. The ps2 has lead the innovation in the game industry, and the only reason microsoft has any good games, is because they are ports of ps2 games. I admit that the Gamecube is a great system too (and cheap), but it has a long way to go to get away from the "kiddie" image.

X-box is by far the best gaming system out to this date but it needs to play cd-r's and you shouldn't have to but the fucking remote to watch dvd's thats why ps2 has some good parts as does xbox i think they are both the same but you put them together they would be a great system and nobody would have to worry wabout spending extra cash on some fuckin remote. the batteries die right after you buy it wtf is that and the stupid start up screen..damn i just want to play a game not look at the x box logo that whole fucking time it is loading up fuck..

I own an xbox too (it was a gift) and I must say that microsoft wasn't very smart when they decided that it would cost an additional $30 just to watch DVD's. Why couldn't you just use the controller as a remote, like the ps2 can?

yeah, xbox does suck. but so does every other console out there. i only bought mine to play halo, and now its out on pc and its better. i hope they hurry up with the mac version though, but that's beside the point. computers should be for work and games a distant second, if your so addicted to games, buy a console because thats what they are for.

just look at there proccessors the Xbox has a 32 bit proccessor (pentium 3) and a geforce graphics card Just like a alot of pcs now I have a computer already. The PS2 has a 128 bit Processor (The EE) and has a bad a$$ linux kit. Im not saying the PS2 has better graphics But I am saying The Xbox would be crap without its graphics card. Also the games I want to play are only on the PS2 except maybe the next perfect dark.

those games u listed r old and simply im over them, the only gta i eva enjoyed is vice city on pc, the ps2 version was craptastic in looks & fps.& mgs2 is crap when compared to splinter cell, id rather gameplay then a 90%movies/10% gamplay. to tell the truth i go half way through mgs 2 and fell asleep during a movie sequence...it was that bad.
& heres a game better than gt2, play need for speed underground, it owns.
and get over the fact that the xbox controllers r big, too me the ps2 controllers r too small and r uncomfortably.....dam i hate fanboys
