Title: Visual InterDev
Post by: samcronje on 24 April 2002, 13:15
I have this error on Visual Interdev.  When the program starts it displays a message box that sais Unexpected Error, Quitting, and then it quits.  I've tried re-installing the crap (I need to use it becuase the company I work for is in bed with Microsoft!),  but no luck.  Does anyone out there know how to deal with this nonsence?

Don't you just love those descriptive error messages?

Anyway, I never used Visual Interdev, when I still did code for windows I used the MingW gcc compiler and Bloodshed dev-c++ (which is a free IDE) and later used ultraedit seeing dev-c++ was a wee bit unstable.

Your best option is to persuade your boss to get a platform independant GUI toolkit (like Qt (http://www.trolltech.com)) and let the developers use linux, this will also force you in the extremely good habit of writing platform independant code
