Whenever I try to visit LinuxISO.org it says, "The connection was refused when attempting to contact www.linuxiso.org." (http://www.linuxiso.org.) Does anyone know whats up with that?

Server Error
The following error occurred:
Could not connect to the server
Please contact the administrator.
is what I get over here, guess the server is down atm, wait a little and try again.
-
I noticed it was down last night. I hope they didn't shut down because it's my favorite distribution grabber. I get a "connection refused" message though which indicates to me that the system is up, they are just refusing access at the moment.

I very much like the fact that they provide you with direct links to the ISO downloads, even for the downloads that are almost impossible to find on the distro's websites.
-
Maybe it's just under construction. Or maybe Microsoft got to them too...
-
or. . .
They're upgrading their server!

Your link will never work. It has a period at the end (http://tongue.gif)
The site is down though...

Anyone remember the progress bar on the top right of the screen there? Aren't they in the process of switching co-los or something?

Site name or availability problem for linuxiso.org
We could not get any results for your selected site. There can be a several reasons for this:
* The host name you have selected is not valid, perhaps it was mistyped.
* We could not contact it, and we do not have any cached information for it. This can be because there is no server running on that site yet, or because it is a new site and the DNS has not yet propagated to Netcraft. It can be also be because of a temporary routing problem from Netcraft to the site.

doesn't look too promising.
Also, why have they been down two days now?

Looks like a lot of free hosting providers are cutting down on links to their users images. It sucks but for those of us who run servers, we are in the clear.

No you fools. It said on the front page that they were moving colo's very soon (for cost reasons).

That shouldn't be cause for any down time. This isn't the first time they've vanished for days at a time. I just hope they come back up.

Does anyone know why they went down?

badconnections was once down for 3 days because I was spending the time with my girlfriend, and there was a power outtage. I bought a UPS after that though.

Who cares? Sites go down, shit happens.
-
Yeah, I think linuxiso.org is a one man operation and it is very possible that something like a power outage could have been the issue. Or it could have been a not so well thought out transfer to a new colo. But we will likely never know and in the end it really doesn't matter as Tux said.
